Description
Purpose: Positions holders focus on SMEs and are responsible for sales activities directly to the customer. Activities include: •Face-to-face and remote sales to new customers and cross/up/repeat sales to existing customers •Assessing customer needs and suggesting appropriate products, services, and/or solutions •Developing and delivering sales bids/proposals/presentations and conducting product demonstrations •Developing medium to long-term sales plans and preparing strategies to protect, grow and diversify the relationship with targeted customers Accountability Level: Manages an Operational Job Family for an entire region/country. Establishes operational/Job Family plans for job area over the short to mid-term (1-3 years) with a direct impact on results. Influences business decisions made by leadership on complex issues that are of strategic importance. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and execute sales and marketing plan for developing business, including product revenue targets • Identify and evaluate potential new opportunities and provide suitable recommendation to boost sales of products / increase market share • Implement/support the national accounts plan • Ensure the attainment of monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets • Assist establishing a customer base in which to promote and solicit new, diverse, on-going business • Maintain market awareness; stay in touch with market trends including economic, environmental and competitive forces influencing the market. • Enforce standards, monitor pricing practices, execute objectives and hold team accountable for performance. • Ensure effective adherence to company policies, procedures and sales process. • Ensure optimal team performance and capability by providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, development and corrective action. • Create and maintain relationships at key levels with select customers and accounts; ensure timely and thorough follow-up. • Ensure that assigned sector attracts, develops and retains the highest quality sales talent available in the market place. • Create a portfolio of new business customers • Implement a Territory Sales Plan, detailing strategy, objectives and planned activity • Execute comprehensive customer account plans and sales opportunity plans • Build a robust sales pipeline and forecast that will yield future profitable revenue streams • Provide proactive information about relevant market activities within the assigned territory or market sector • Develop a detailed knowledge of competitive products and services in area of operation & submit accurate competitor information report on a monthly basis.
