We are currently looking for two (02) Courier Drivers to join us in Otago Region. You must be committed and reliable and have a Clean and current Driver’s license.
It’s a Permanent Full-Time position with a minimum of guaranteed 30 hours of work per week. Days Required: Monday to Saturday (flexible hours). Weekends and public holidays availability. Hourly rate: Between $30.00- $32.00 per hour based on skills and experience. Location of Work would be Within Otago Region.
- Delivering mail, parcels, documents and other items to customers’ premises and mailboxes
- Sorting and sequencing items for delivery
- Receiving orders for deliveries from customers
- Check the condition of the load and that it is secure
- Ensuring goods are secured correctly and removed safely
- Inspecting goods for damage and complete incident reports
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Keeping records of items received and delivered
- Maintaining logs and other delivery records
- Loading and unloading mail conveyances and internal mail handling equipment
- Assisting with receipting inward mail, checking wrongly addressed, missorted, undelivered and redirected mail, and processing freepost and underpaid mail
- Pre-checks of vehicle before each trip – including oil, water, fuel, air pressure levels are in line with road safety and vehicle safety standards
- Ensure vehicle is kept clean and tidy and carry out minor maintenance
- Report defects, accidents, or violations - immediately report the instance to the Manager.
- Always follow health and Safety operation during driving & Complying with all traffic laws at all times
To be successful in your application, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Current Class 1 Driver’s license OR equivalent overseas Driver license.
- 6-12 months of relevant experience
- Pass the drug and alcohol tests
- No criminal records
- Clean driving record (No previous Driving incidents) and commitment to safety
- Flexible Work Availability as there will be early morning start, and you may be required to work during weekends and public holidays
- Being physically fit (there may be some heavy lifting)
- Time management skills and ability to work unsupervised
- Work in conditions that may be stressful, including poor weather and Heavy Traffic
- Mechanically minded would be an advantage
- Have a positive, enthusiastic attitude with a strong results-focused work ethic
- Strong Health & Safety focus & adherence to all H&S procedures
- Willingness to follow standard operating procedures
- Committed and reliable
