The Courier Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of courier services in Queenstown and surrounding areas. This role involves managing a team of courier drivers, ensuring timely and professional delivery of packages, maintaining high customer service standards, and ensuring compliance with New Zealand regulations and company policies.

Team Management

• Recruit, train, and supervise courier drivers to ensure a competent and motivated team.
• Schedule shifts and assign delivery routes to optimize operational efficiency.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address employee concerns promptly.

Operational Oversight

• Monitor daily delivery operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of packages and goods.
• Implement and maintain processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service quality.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve operational issues.

Customer Service

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing escalated customer inquiries or complaints.
• Maintain professional communication with clients and stakeholders to uphold Mana Group Holdings Limited’s reputation.

Vehicle and Resource Management

• Oversee the maintenance and allocation of company-provided vehicles, ensuring they are clean, in good working condition, and used strictly for work-related purposes.
• Conduct weekly vehicle checks to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Report and address any vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
• Manage fuel usage and other operational resources to minimize waste and ensure cost-effectiveness.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure all courier operations comply with New Zealand traffic laws, workplace safety standards, and company policies.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols for drivers and package handling to prevent accidents or damage.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to operational and legal standards.

Documentation and Reporting

• Oversee the accurate completion of delivery logs, receipts, and other required documentation by the courier team.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on operational performance, including delivery metrics and team productivity.
• Provide detailed reports on vehicle damage and accidents for insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate submission to support claims processes.

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline delivery routes, improve scheduling, and enhance operational workflows.
• Utilize technology, such as delivery management software and GPS systems, to optimize operations.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License: Must hold a full, clean New Zealand driver’s license (Class 1) with no restrictions.
• Forklift license
• Leadership Experience: Proven experience in managing teams, preferably in logistics, courier services, or a related field.
• Operational Knowledge: Strong understanding of logistics, delivery operations, and route optimization.
• Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage customer relations and team dynamics.
• Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using delivery management software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office or similar tools for reporting and scheduling.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to address operational challenges and make decisions under pressure.
• Reliability: Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug test prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a manager in a courier, logistics, or transportation company in New Zealand.
• Strong knowledge of local areas and road networks in Queenstown and surrounding areas.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
