Job Title: Courier Driver Reports To: This role reports to the Client Services Supervisor, Client Services Manager, or equivalent leadership. Job Overview: As a Courier, Freight, and Driver Dock Support Specialist at SPS Global, you will be integral to our logistics and distribution operations, focusing on delivering top-notch courier and freight services. This position involves detailed coordination and execution of parcel and mail delivery across various locations, ensuring operational efficiency and excellent service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Courier and Delivery Excellence: Navigate predefined routes via automobile to deliver mail and parcels, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Freight Handling: Manage the loading, unloading, and proper distribution of freight, adhering to safety and efficiency protocols. Operational Support: Serve as a critical point of support for dock operations, including assisting with the organization and management of shipping and receiving areas. Vehicle Maintenance: Responsible for the routine maintenance and operational readiness of delivery vehicles, including inspections and compliance with all safety regulations. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate logs and time stamps for items received and delivered, supporting chain of custody requirements and ensuring compliance with company standards. Client and Employee Engagement: Provide exceptional customer service to both clients and SPS employees, enhancing the professional image of the company. Additional Support: Proactively seek out additional tasks during downtime and provide support across various operational areas as needed. Competencies: Strong verbal and written communication skills. High-level customer service orientation with a focus on professionalism and efficiency. Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities. Proficiency in using technology to track deliveries and maintain records. Solid organizational and time-management skills. Qualifications and Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years prior work experience in courier, freight handling, or similar roles preferred. Current state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be able to work assigned hours as determined by the manager. Physical Demands: The role requires physical activity including lifting, bending, and maneuvering freight up to 60 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit for extended periods. Travel: Local travel is a fundamental part of this role.
