We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences: Programme Code: MSCDU Programme Title: Master of Science in Diagnostic Ultrasonography The appointee will support the development of the Master of Science in Diagnostic Ultrasonography for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences on a freelance, project-based basis. The programme will be developed in English. Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Recording of video lectures; Development of PowerPoint presentations; Preparation of teaching notes; and Developing assessment items: Preparing multiple-choice questions for the examination paper to enhance students’ learning experience. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience, and competence: A higher degree in Health Sciences, or radiology and medical imaging; Teaching experience in a health-related discipline; Good command of written English; Preferably with experience in teaching distance learning and/or part-time courses; and Previous involvement in developing course materials for higher institutions is a definite advantage. Background The Master of Science Programme in Diagnostic Ultrasonography is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, techniques, and clinical applications of diagnostic ultrasonography, with a primary focus on abdominal and vascular imaging, while introducing foundational concepts in physics, small parts, musculoskeletal, antenatal, and postnatal imaging. The programme aims to develop technical proficiency in ultrasound scanning techniques, protocols, and image optimization to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging, while fostering critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills for accurate interpretation of findings and integration of clinical information in diagnostic decision-making. This programme will cover the following topics: Ultrasound Physics Abdominal Ultrasonography Vascular Ultrasonography Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography Antenatal and Postnatal Ultrasonography Contemporary and Small Parts Ultrasound Research Methodology Capstone Project Clinical Practicum Upon completion of this programme, students should be able to: 1. Critically evaluate and integrate advanced principles of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, and imaging techniques across a range of diagnostic ultrasonography applications. 2. Master advanced scanning protocols, optimize image quality, and systematically differentiate normal and pathological findings across abdominal, vascular, musculoskeletal, antenatal, postnatal, and small parts imaging. 3. Adhere rigorously to the highest ethical, safety, and legal standards, prioritizing patient welfare, dignity, and professional accountability in all aspects of ultrasonography practice. 4. Design, conduct, and critically analyze independent research to advance evidence-based practices and innovations in diagnostic ultrasonography. 5. Integrate professionalism, empathy, and ethical judgment to address patient needs, resolve value conflicts, and deliver exceptional, patient-centered care. 6. Work effectively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams, contributing diagnostic insights and fostering collaboration to enhance patient outcomes. 7. Embrace and apply emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and advanced imaging modalities, to remain at the forefront of diagnostic ultrasonography practice.
