QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

• Master’s degree or equivalent in French education, second language acquisition, FSL pedagogy, or a related field.
• Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in good standing (current) or held within the last five years.
• Qualifications and teaching experience in French as a Second Language appropriate to the cohort being taught (i.e., elementary for Primary/Junior cohorts or secondary for Junior/Intermediate/Senior cohorts).
• Demonstrated record of effective teaching performance in post-secondary or teacher education settings.
• Fluency in oral and written French (this course is taught entirely in French).

Preferred Qualifications / Assets:

• OCT Specialist Qualification in FSL.
• Experience with differentiated instruction, multilingual learners, and intercultural teaching approaches.
• Familiarity with Growing Success (2010) and current Ministry assessment policy.
• Knowledge of Francophone cultures in Canada and globally, including experience with diverse language learners (e.g., newcomers, students with interrupted schooling).
• Experience supporting teacher candidates or in-service educators in FSL curriculum and assessment practices.

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.
