QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

• Demonstrated qualifications related to teaching mathematics and computational thinking at the elementary level
• Proven record of effective teaching in elementary mathematics education
• Proven record of effective teaching in elementary French Immersion education
• Familiarity with contemporary reform approaches in mathematics education
• Knowledge of the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum and current Ministry priorities
• Fluency in oral and written French and experience teaching mathematics in French as a Second Language settings

Preferred Qualifications / Assets:

• Master’s degree in education, mathematics education, or a related field
• OCT certification, including a Specialist qualification in Mathematics (Primary/Junior) or equivalent
• Experience mentoring or supervising teacher candidates
• Understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction in math
• Experience in integrating digital tools and computational thinking into elementary math instruction

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.
