QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Demonstrated qualifications and experience teaching two or more of: Geography, History, Law, Civics and Citizenship, or Economics at the Senior level.
  • Demonstrated record of effective teaching practice.
  • Master’s degree, Specialist Qualification, or equivalent in a relevant subject area.

Preferred Qualifications / Assets:

  • Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification in good standing or held within the last five years.
  • Experience delivering Canadian and World Studies content across multiple strands (e.g., integrated programs or cross-curricular projects).
  • Familiarity with Ontario Ministry of Education documents, including The Ontario Curriculum: Canadian and World Studies, Grades 9–12 and Growing Success.
  • Demonstrated engagement with equity-oriented and decolonizing pedagogies in social studies education.
  • Experience supporting teacher candidates in post-secondary or teacher education contexts.
Responsibilities

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.
