QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in LGBTQ+ studies, education, gender studies, equity and social justice education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of queer and trans theories and their application in K–12 educational contexts.
  • Experience teaching about gender and sexual diversity in schools or post-secondary settings.
  • Record of effective teaching performance at the post-secondary or teacher education level.

Preferred Qualifications / Assets:

  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in LGBTQ+ studies, education, gender studies, or equity and social justice education.
  • Experience teaching at the K-12 level.
  • OCT or equivalent certification.
  • Lived experience and/or extensive engagement with 2SLGBTQI+ communities.
  • Experience facilitating courses in inclusive, anti-oppressive, and equity-focused education.
  • Experience teaching in online, synchronous environments.
  • Research or practice-based experience in 2SLGBTQI+ inclusive curriculum or policy development.
Responsibilities

You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
Candidates must be willing to undertake training as required by the Employer including, but not limited to, training in respect of health and safety, harassment and discrimination, and legislated service standards.
