Position Title : Course Lecturer Sleep Mechanisms and Behaviour (PSYC 444) Department: Department of Psychology, McGill University Term: Summer 2026 (May 04 – June 04) Schedule: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 8h 35-11 h 25 Credits for course: 3 Salary: $11,497 Job Summary: The Department of Psychology is seeking a qualified instructor to teach Sleep Mechanisms and Behaviour (PSYC 444) during the Summer 2026 term. This course material to be covered is basic biological mechanisms, possible functions and behavioural aspects of sleep, their effects on behaviour and cognition, and treatment approaches; as well as medical, neurological and psychiatric disorders, and drugs that affect sleep. Key Responsibilities: · Prepare formal lectures, organize classroom discussion and student presentation on the topics which cover basic biological mechanism, possible functions and behavioural aspects of sleep · Assess student’s assignments, presentations, and research project reports · Supervise and support Teaching Assistants assigned to the course. · Assess student work, including assignments, presentations, and research project reports. Teaching Qualification Requirements: · Completed PhD or enrolled in a doctoral program in Psychology · Provide evidence of effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught a similar course · The candidate’s area of specialization must be as close as possible to that of the course being offered Before applying, please note that to work at McGill University, you must be authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec, on the campus where the position is located.
