Faculty/Unit: School of Continuing Studies
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Program Director M.Sc.(A) in Multilingual Digital Communication or their equivalent, the individual in this position will perform the following tasks:

  • Grant Writing in French:
  • Identify, write and submit grant proposals (particularly in French).
  • Online Course Development Oversight:
  • Collaborate with the Digital Learning Unit to oversee and manage new course development in the Multilingual Communication Technologies Stream of the M.Sc.A. in Multilingual Digital Communication delivered by the McGill School of Continuing Studies, while the current program director oversees and develop content of the core module and capstone of the program.
  • Academic project management (online development): Track progress, milestones, payments, co-development (assess the need to hire specific SMEs and find those SMEs, answer any questions SMEs may have.)
  • Does market research for new courses whose content keeps changing and needs updates.
  • Communications and External and Internal Event Planning:
  • Leads daily communications needs of the program in French
  • Assist in planning and executing all aspects of program-related events, from promotional events, thought leadership events, info sessions, partners’ visits, adjunct professors’ campus stays, etc., particularly aspects of event planning that require more technical complexity or knowledge of French.
  • Organize internal onboarding and training sessions of relevant stakeholders
  • Assist with answering prospective students’ inquiries in French or in peak periods
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications
Master’s degree in any discipline or professional field related to MDC. PhD or ABD (strongly preferred). Expertise in language technologies and/or cross-lingual Natural Language Processing is strongly preferred. Written and oral proficiency in English and French are required. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. Experience in online development is preferred.
Duration: 6 months
