Varndean College is a thriving and successful sixth form college with an excellent reputation for high outcomes, providing an inspirational student experience and adding value to all of our community. Based in the city of Brighton and Hove we transform lives through exceptional education. We are proud of our dynamic culture, inclusivity and reputation as trailblazers.
We have extremely high standards for all our students and aim to develop their knowledge, skills and experience in a stimulating and varied learning environment. We look to exploit diverse strategies of teaching, learning, motivation and tracking so that all students are able to access the understanding and knowledge needed to prepare them effectively for examination and beyond.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified teacher of Maths. We are seeking someone who will be ambitious for our students and has a vision for the development of Mathematics in our curriculum. For the successful candidate, a commitment to raising standards and a passion for developing young adults is essential: this entails a commitment to all learners, to excellence for all, and a belief that a good College makes a significant difference to learners’ life chances, levels of attainment and the well-being of the community as a whole. This position would suit an experienced teacher as well as an ECT.
To be successful, you will have a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification. An A level specialist with the ability to contribute to the maths curriculum of the IB would be an advantage.
The College is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are required to have an enhanced DBS check. We value the diversity of our staff and students and we particularly welcome applicants from under-represented backgrounds.
