Description Job Summary Join our team as a part time courtesy clerk. Responsible for assisting customers by efficiently bagging their groceries and ensuring items are properly packed for safe transport. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Looking for someone that can work predominantly evenings and weekends. Key Responsibilities Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner. Properly bag groceries, ensuring that items are organized, secure, and packed with care to prevent damage. Ensure that bags are evenly packed, keeping weight distribution in mind. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bagging area. Assist with restocking or organizing grocery shelves during slower periods. Provide support to cashiers by bagging groceries promptly to maintain a smooth checkout process. Assist in other tasks as needed by management, including retrieving carts, garbage, cleaning stores including bathrooms or helping with customer inquiries. Requirements Qualifications Education & Experience Must be 14 years of age or older Must be at least 16 years old to work past 7 PM, during the school year. Skills & Competencies Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting or bending. Desirable Qualifications Previous experience in a customer-facing role, such as cashier or courtesy clerk, preferred but not required. Excellent customer service skills. Strong communication skills. Attention to detail when bagging groceries. Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and pushing carts, and standing for extended periods. Ability to maintain a positive attitude, even during busy periods, ensuring a pleasant experience for customers. Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond for customers. Ability to assist customers with loading groceries into their carts. Organizational skills for maintaining a tidy and well-stocked checkout area, and keeping the cart area clean and organized. Positive attitude and professionalism, representing the store’s values and providing a great final impression for customers.
