Justteachers are working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Selby, seeking a committed and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join their team full-time and long-term, starting ASAP.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and making a positive impact on young learners by providing consistency and support in the absence of their regular teacher.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a school-based setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Good understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Two recent education or school-based references.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of KCSIE and safeguarding procedures.
  • Willingness to support the school’s ethos and values.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver pre-set lessons and manage classrooms in the absence of teaching staff.
  • Follow instructions from the Cover Manager and Deputy Head Teacher.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning during cover lessons.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s Behaviour and Rewards strategies.
  • Provide verbal feedback to students and written feedback to teachers.
  • Support individual students or small groups, including those with additional needs.
  • Supervise students during school trips, break/lunch times, and out-of-class activities.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection policies at all times.
  • Engage in CPD, staff meetings, and the school’s appraisal process.
