Role summary The CPG Data Analyst at CE will be responsible for analyzing, cleaning, building, and supporting scalable data products derived from our large, alternative datasets with a specific focus on the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector. This role sits at the intersection of data analysis, market intelligence, and product innovation. The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor with deep knowledge of the CPG industry, including category trends, competitive dynamics, and the broader retail ecosystem. They should be naturally curious and able to connect data-driven insights to real-world CPG market behavior, helping CE build and enhance our next-generation CPG analytics product. Your main responsibilities Analyze a diverse array of large alternative datasets for insights specific to CPG brands, categories, and retailers Clean, structure, and enrich semi-structured and unstructured data for use in analytical models and dashboards Combine multiple internal and external datasets to produce predictive models and actionable insights relevant to CPG trends Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Product Managers, and other Data Analysts to design and build scalable, insight-driven data products Translate analytical findings into narratives that inform clients about brand performance, category trends, and macro CPG market shifts. Stay current on CPG industry developments, competitive dynamics, and consumer behavior trends to contextualize data insights. Develop creative and intuitive ways to visually present data insights to clients You will be successful in this role if you have: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy Deep understanding of the CPG industry Strong proficiency in SQL to analyze and organize multiple large datasets Experience with data modeling and statistical backtesting Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to readily translate between technical and non-technical audiences Passion for understanding consumer and retail behavior, particularly in CPG categories. Ability to juggle multiple, rapidly evolving projects Knowledge of Python or other programming languages a plus Familiarity with alternative data is a plus You will be successful at CE if you have: A detail-oriented mindset Ability to balance multiple priorities at once. Salary The annual base salary for this role is between $165,000 - $200,000 based on experience, with the opportunity for a performance-based bonus, company equity, 401(k) matching, paid parental leave, flexible and generous time off, work-from-home flexibility, and subsidized health benefits.
