Description

About Roberta’s
What started in a concrete bunker in Bushwick, Brooklyn in 2008 has become a culinary and cultural phenomenon. Roberta’s is not just a restaurant; it’s a destination, a brand, and a way of life. We’ve grown from a single wood-fired oven into a multi-faceted hospitality group with restaurants spanning New York and Los Angeles, and a rapidly expanding Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) division that brings our iconic wood-fired pizzas and other culinary creations to freezers and pantries across the nation. Our mission is to deliver the same quality, creativity, and defiant spirit of our restaurants to consumers everywhere. We are scrappy, ambitious, and passionate about our product.
The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Director of CPG to lead the charge in our next phase of explosive growth. This is a critical leadership role responsible for the overall strategy, management, and expansion of our CPG business. You will be the champion of the Roberta’s brand in retail, driving our frozen pizza and future product lines to become household names. You will own the P&L, develop the long-term strategic plan, and manage the key relationships that will get us there. The ideal candidate is a true builder—someone who can think big while also being willing to roll up their sleeves and execute in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Leadership & P&L Ownership: Develop and execute the comprehensive strategy for the Roberta’s CPG division. Own the full P&L, setting ambitious sales and profitability goals and ensuring they are met.
  • Sales & Distribution Growth: Aggressively expand our distribution footprint in retail and foodservice channels. Identify and secure new accounts with national and regional retailers, club stores, and natural/specialty grocers.
  • Broker & Distributor Management: Manage and optimize our network of brokers and distributors. Set clear performance KPIs, lead regular business reviews, and create the tools and incentives needed to make Roberta’s a priority.
  • Product Innovation & Portfolio Management: Partner with our culinary and operations teams to guide the CPG product pipeline, from ideation and development to successful launch. Analyze market data and consumer trends to identify new opportunities and optimize our existing product portfolio.
  • Marketing & Brand Strategy: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute a CPG-specific marketing plan that drives brand awareness, trial, and loyalty. Ensure the rebellious, quality-driven ethos of Roberta’s is powerfully communicated on-shelf and through all marketing channels.
  • Trade Marketing & Shopper Strategy: Develop and manage a trade marketing budget to support our retail partners. Create effective shopper marketing programs, promotional calendars, and in-store activations that stop consumers in the aisle.
  • Forecasting & Operations Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with our supply chain and finance teams to ensure accurate sales forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management. Help streamline processes to ensure maximum efficiency and fill rates.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Build and mentor a high-performing CPG team as the business grows. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and hustle.

Who You Are:

  • A Proven CPG Leader: You have 8+ years of progressive experience in the CPG industry, with a strong preference for experience in frozen foods or other high-growth, challenger brands. You have a proven track record of scaling a CPG business and delivering significant revenue growth.
  • A Sales & Distribution Expert: You have deep experience working with major US retailers (e.g., Whole Foods, Target, Kroger, Costco) and a strong network of contacts. You are an expert in managing broker and distributor relationships.
  • Financially Savvy: You have strong financial acumen and have previously owned a P&L. You know the levers to pull to drive both top-line sales and bottom-line profitability.
  • Entrepreneurial & Scrappy: You thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment where you are expected to be both a strategist and a doer. You are resourceful, adaptable, and can make things happen with limited resources.
  • Brand Passion: You have a genuine passion for the food industry and a deep appreciation for the Roberta’s brand and what makes it special. You understand how to translate a unique brand story into success at retail.
  • Data-Driven: You are comfortable analyzing sales data (SPINS, Nielsen, etc.) and shopper insights to build a compelling sales story and make informed business decisions.
  • An Exceptional Communicator & Collaborator: You have excellent communication and presentation skills and can work effectively across all levels of an organization.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in the natural/organic food space.
  • Experience launching a brand from a foodservice/restaurant concept into retail.
  • An MBA is a plus, but not required.

Why Roberta’s?

  • Be a key leader in one of the most exciting and culturally relevant food brands today.
  • Have a direct and tangible impact on the growth and success of the business.
  • Work with a passionate, dedicated, and fun-loving team.
  • Competitive salary, bonus, and benefits.
  • And yes, plenty of pizza.

Roberta’s is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
