WE ARE LOOKING FOR A REGISTERED MANAGER THAT IDEALLY (BUT NOT ESSENTIAL), HOLDS A LEVEL 3 IN BSL TO SUPPORT OUR ADULTS IN A RESIDENTIAL HOME SETTING IN MID DEVON. THESE INDIVIDUALS ARE PROFOUNDLY DEAF, AND NEED SUPPORT IN THEIR DAY TO DAY LIFE.

All of the young adults use British Sign Language to communicate and all communication is supported by AAC devices and visual imagery.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

• British Sign Language skills.
• Passionate about making the difference to the lives of the Adults within the home.
• Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, young people and Adults. With at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Qualifications: Level 3 in Children’s or Adults Residential Care is essential. Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential settings is preferred at point of application, if not then you must be enrolled on the Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.
• Knowledge: Understanding of CQC and Adult legislation, and regulatory requirements.
• Skills: Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
• Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
• Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
• Driving License: Full UK required.
