POSITION SUMMARY:

The Craft Supervisor – Pipe/Pipe Testing is responsible for supervising and directing operations within the Piping discipline. You will ensure assigned construction operations and contractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. This is a FIFO role working 3:1 roster based in Karratha, WA.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable.
  • 8-10 years’ experience in similar role within the Heavy Industrial Field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ pneumatic/hydrostatic testing experience at a Supervisory level.
  • Flange Management, Pre-commissioning, Oil Flushing, Air Blowing, Pigging and Drying experience is an advantage.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong experience of liaising with and coordinating sub-contractors
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME PCC-2, AS 2885, AS 2033, AS 2419 pressure testing requirements.
  • Good mechanical understanding of various pressurisation pumps and equipment.
  • Must be safety focused and demonstrate excellent understanding of industry standards.
  • Able to work night shift and day shift when the business need arises
Responsibilities
  • Perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for Piping personnel and complete performance evaluations on direct reports.
  • Provide leadership for safety, accident and fire prevention on the project. This includes safety orientation, preparation of safety procedures and leading Bechtel and subcontractor safety meetings.
  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
  • Responsible for implementing corporate project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned piping operations.
  • Other responsibilities as designated.
