JOB SUMMARY:

In this role, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project. You will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate subcontract work activities and team development. Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years relevant field experience in the assembly and erection of structural steel on large scale projects.
  • Minimum 5+ years in a Structural Steel Supervisory role.
  • Extensive knowledge in constructability and sequencing of steel structures.
  • Current High Risk Work License in Intermediate or Advanced Rigging or proven work history as a qualified Rigger.
  • Knowledge of EPCM contract Management, and the Contractor(s) and their subcontractor’s (if applicable) responsibilities. Knowledge of construction technologies. Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities. Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Responsible for the planning, execution and supervision of all structural steel assembly, erection, installation, modification and removal.
  • Performing work in Greenfield, Brownfield and Operational areas, liaison with operations to perform this work.
  • Ensures Structural personnel receive progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Coordinates activities with other disciplines, areas, and/or client’s resident representatives as instructed by construction management.
  • Responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Plans and implements procedures to ensure construction operations are continuously adhering to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budget.
  • Responsibility for worker safety on the project implementing a Zero Accidents philosophy.
  • Ensure construction site cleanliness and housekeeping requirements are met.
  • Monitor jobsite work rule compliance.
Responsibilities

Leadership / Supervision (Discipline Supervision of craft)

  • Supervises and/or directs craft activities as assigned.
  • Schedules work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.

Planning / Productivity

  • Determines workforce requirements.
  • Coordinates established area operational plans.

Tools, Materials & Equipment

  • Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site.
  • Oversees the preparation of Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.

Safety & Quality

  • Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
  • Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors’ performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets.

Technical

  • Works with Construction Field Engineers, Leading Hands, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
  • Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
