Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Crane, Hoist or Lift Operator to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a range of lifting equipment—including stationary and mobile cranes, hoists, and winches—to lift, move, and position heavy materials, equipment, and personnel on construction sites, industrial facilities, ports, and other operational zones.
This is a hands-on position requiring a strong focus on site safety, communication, and coordination with riggers, spotters, and other ground personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct pre-start checks and safety tests on all lifting equipment to ensure operational readiness
  • Operate controls to manoeuvre cranes, lifts, and hoists accurately and in accordance with job specifications
  • Work closely with riggers and spotters to safely align, raise, lower, and position loads
  • Monitor lifting activities using visual cues, instrumentation, and communication systems to ensure safety and compliance
  • Maintain awareness of lifting zones, environmental conditions, and site-specific hazards
  • Inspect, clean, and lubricate ropes, winches, and crane components; replace worn parts as required
  • Respond to fault indicators and report any mechanical issues or unsafe conditions immediately
  • Operate specialised attachments for tasks such as demolition, pile driving, or personnel lifting (where applicable)
  • Maintain daily logbooks, incident records, and safety checklists in line with operational protocols
  • Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and company procedures
