Diversified Sourcing Solutions is seeking a skilled and dependable Crate Builder / Team Lead to join the production team for one of our clients in the Jersey Village area. This role involves hands-on construction of custom product crates, team coordination, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong woodworking and material handling experience and will also demonstrate leadership capabilities to guide and support a small team of crate builders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ years of experience in crate building, carpentry, or a related field

Familiarity with hand tools and power tools including nail guns, staple guns, table saws, and miter saws
*
Ability to read a tape measure accurately (Ez-Read style preferred)
*
Knowledge of basic material handling and warehouse safety practices
*
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
*
Comfortable with physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods
*
Prior leadership or team coordination experience a plus
*
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Build custom wooden crates using a nail gun, staple gun, table saw, and miter saw according to product specifications
*
Measure and cut plywood and lumber accurately using an Ez-Read tape measure
*
Assemble wooden and corrugated boxes for various product sizes
*
Operate manual pallet jacks to move materials and completed crates
*
Apply proper material handling techniques, including safe lifting, awareness of pinch points, and ergonomic practices for pushing vs. pulling
*
Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained in work areas, including cleanup and organization
*
Stand for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks
*
Assist with training and mentoring other team members on equipment use, safety protocols, and build quality
*
Monitor production schedules and help meet daily build goals
*
Communicate issues or delays to supervisors and offer solutions when possible
