Department Overview This department is responsible for B2B marketing at Rakuten Mobile. In addition to mobile connectivity services, we strategically plan and execute the promotion of Rakuten Mobile’s proprietary products on a daily basis. Guided by one of Rakuten’s core principles, “Maximization of Customer Satisfaction,” we consistently approach our work from the customer’s perspective, striving to deliver value-driven marketing initiatives that meet real business needs. This organization is responsible for the production and continuous improvement that support a wide range of initiatives, including the corporate website, digital marketing, owned media, and events. One of the key attractions of this role is the opportunity to be involved throughout the entire process—from planning and execution to optimization—while gaining a holistic view of the overall marketing function. Position: Why We Hire Due to business expansion, we are hiring additional team members to strengthen our web design and print production capabilities. Position Details Key Responsibilities ・Design, operate, improve, and lead the renewal of websites for Rakuten Mobile B2B and related services ・Create designs for printed materials such as posters, brochures, flyers, and direct mail ・Collaborate with web directors, front-end engineers, DTP designers, and business operations teams ・Work closely with designers across other Rakuten services ・Produce new web designs as well as manage ongoing updates and enhancements ・Conduct and analyze qualitative and quantitative research, including user surveys ・Propose and implement UI designs or improvements that address customer and business challenges based on hypotheses ・Develop the overall creative concept for projects and oversee visual direction ・Provide direction to team members, conduct design reviews, and ensure design quality Work Environment Approximately 35 members (15 in Marketing and 20 in Production) Mandatory Qualifications: ・Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an Art Director, with hands-on experience in both online and offline design ・Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma at a professional working level ・Experience in design supervision and creative leadership ・Knowledge and understanding of usability, accessibility, and front-end technologies ・Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate and drive team-based development ・Japanese language proficiency (business-level speaking, reading, and writing) Desired Qualifications: ・Experience in design system development, operation, and continuous improvement ・Experience with DTP and coordinating creative assets across both offline and online channels ・Knowledge of and experience in video editing and motion graphics Others Information: Additional information on Location Futakotamagawa RISE Office, 2-21-1 Tamagawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo 1-minute walk from Futako-Tamagawa Station (Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line / Oimachi Line) Languages: English (Overall - 3 - Advanced), Japanese (Overall - 4 - Fluent) In Japanese, Rakuten stands for ‘optimism.’ It means we believe in the future.
