Description

Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Creative Design Coordinator to join our team and support Hindawi’s mission of spreading knowledge and culture while fostering a love of reading among children and youth. The ideal candidate will coordinate closely with illustrators, define project requirements and scope, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, meaningful illustrations that enhance our stories. This role requires a proactive professional capable of combining creative direction with project management, ensuring smooth communication and workflow between the Illustrators, Creative Team, and Editorial Team. The successful candidate will focus on maintaining and improving the illustration process while ensuring all visual outputs align with Hindawi Foundation’s creative and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Receive illustration requests (text plots, task details, and requirements) from the Editorial and Creative Teams, ensuring a clear understanding of all project needs. Assign, send, and explain tasks to illustrators, providing clarification and ensuring they have all necessary information to meet specifications. Collaborate with illustrators on story briefs to guide the creation of suitable illustrations for each scene. Review submitted sketches to ensure compliance with initial requirements. Serve as the primary liaison between illustrators, the Creative Team, and the Editorial Team. Share received sketches with the Creative and Editorial Teams for review and gather consolidated feedback. Communicate feedback to illustrators to ensure alignment with Hindawi Foundation’s vision and quality standards. Follow up with illustrators to ensure timely delivery of tasks, including all required amendments. Calculate illustrators’ compensation (per hour/piece), ensuring compliance with contract terms. Track illustrators’ performance and process metrics to generate weekly and monthly reports. Organize and archive all illustration assets systematically. Ensure effective vendor management throughout the illustration process. Qualifications and Experience: Strong background in design, art, or illustration. Very good command of written and spoken English. Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
