Apple Music Content Design is in search of a world-class, creative director with experience in brand, editorial, and motion-driven new media for digital products. The Creative Director, Content Design for Apple Music will work closely with editorial, business, product, engineering, and marketing teams, as well as cross-functional and external partners to shape the Apple Music brand through the lens of music culture. This role will focus on creative strategy, creative direction, content innovation, executive-level presentations, people management, and process refinement. Bring your deep expertise creating and directing brand and content design experiences oriented around music, across all media types, screens, formats and technologies!

DESCRIPTION

In this role you will build content design systems and product creative that shapes the Apple Music brand and product experience. You will develop creative briefs in collaboration with content design strategists and key stakeholders, and you’ll direct art directors and designers on the execution of those briefs. You will be expected to creative direct internal teams as well as external vendors such as agencies, illustrators, and photographers across multiple projects on multiple timelines. You’ll be an inspiring creative leader, and a fountain of ideas and creative thinking, who can think and implement quickly, laterally, independently or collaboratively. You will strategically connect conceptual design development with what listeners need in a product experience, and you’ll immerse yourself into understanding the nuances of the relationships between fans and artists. You will craft beautiful, story driven presentations and present work to senior creative leadership, business, product, design, editorial, marketing, engineering partners, and Apple executives - articulating concepts with energy, enthusiasm, and confidence. As a manager, you will foster and nurture relationships, managing and mentoring creatives, using that rapport to align teams around a vision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of proven creative industry experience in digital media
  • 5+ years of managing creative teams
  • Experience and passion for music and musical talent-related content; ability to stay ahead of design trends in that industry
  • Portfolio demonstrating proficiency in delivering strategic ideas across digital, social or static form factors.
  • Demonstrated mastery of Adobe Creative suite
  • Have an incredible talent for developing elevated aesthetics, visually cohesive creative, and the ability to tell a powerful story through the work
  • Must be flexible, and have the ability to adjust to design scenarios.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrable design or creative leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of systems design and branding strategy, particularly for streaming products
  • Passionate about exceptional art direction, design, and creative that is thoughtful, meaningful, provocative at times, and significant
  • A love for and knowledge of music culture which informs your work
  • Ability to prototype visual design work in situation
  • Ability to author, share and direct ideas in a cogent and inspiring manner
