ABOUT US:

Riverwood Church Community is a multi-site church operating in Winnipeg’s Elmwood neighbourhood. With 7 unique worship communities, Riverwood is home to approximately 1200 people each weekend. We exist to help people journey along the path to being fully devoted followers of Jesus.
We have been privileged to be a part of the Elmwood community since 1999. Through our local support programming, our community partnerships, and resource supports, we work towards the vision to see our neighbourhood and everyone within it thrive.

TIME REQUIREMENTS:

General office hours are 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Tuesday to Friday plus weekend services. Alternative working hours (evening + weekends) may be required periodically to meet the requirements of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop creative teams, both staff and volunteers.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with worship, tech, communications, and pastoral teams.
  • A heart for worship and a passion to see people encounter God through creativity.
  • Ability to translate abstract vision into practical creative output.
  • Experience with social media strategy and digital content creation.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring creatives (e.g., artists, designers, performers).
  • Strong project management skills; ability to coordinate multiple projects with excellence under tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback within a creative process.
  • Degree or diploma in Creative Arts, Communications, Media Production, Graphic Design, Theatre Arts, or a related field. Other combinations of training / experience will be considered.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check

Responsibilities
  • Participate as a key member of the Production Team, working to collaborate with the Worship Pastor and others who sit on this team in their effort to create inspiring, innovative, engaging weekend services.
  • Provide supervision and direction to the Videographer and Graphic Designer.
  • Oversee, recruit and provide leadership for the volunteer Service Directors.
  • Take the lead and champion the creation of an ‘arts culture’ at Riverwood.
  • Oversee all communications efforts including, but not limited to; announcements, signage, Riverwood app, videos, website, and newsletters.
  • Set the direction for and manage Riverwood’s social media presence.
  • Collaborate with a variety of creative groups, which could include Drama Teams, Dance Teams, Music Teams, Video Production Teams and other fine arts groups.
  • Collaborate with a variety of technical support departments and teams, including the Audio Technicians, Lighting Technicians, eVisual Technicians, Video Technicians and the Broadcast Team.
  • Lead the creation of original material and artistic expressions when possible (ie: music, songs, drama, videos, works of art, spoken word, etc.)
  • Take the lead on ‘big weekends’ including Christmas, Easter & Welcome Home weekends.
  • Design ‘didn’t-see-that-coming’ moments and ways to increase the people’s engagement in worship.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Worship Pastor.
