The Alma Mater Society (AMS) is the oldest student association in Canada and has been a central student organization at Queen's since its founding in 1858. Today, the AMS acts as a service, advocacy, and governing body on behalf of all students enrolled in AMS-affiliated programs at Queen's University. The AMS is a not-for-profit entity created by the Society to ensure its continuing financial viability by overseeing the management of its services and associated financial affairs. It is bound by the By-laws and corporate philosophy of our Mission and Operating statements as set out in the AMS Constitution. In addition to providing wage-based service staff positions for students wanting employment, the AMS seeks to support the Society's broader objectives through the provisioning of a high quality, relevant range of student funded services, that provide a wide range of employment opportunities and meaningful out-of-classroom learning and skill acquisition experiences for students. Job Summary The Audio and Media Centre (AMC) is a creative media agency capable of full in-house production utilizing graphic design, videography, photography, printing, and publications. It fulfills several key responsibilities: serving as the primary printing, photo, video and graphics content creators for the AMS, producing the Tricolour Yearbook and Agenda, and soliciting internal and external contracts for revenue. Media Centre Media Staff positions include Graphic Design Staff, Photography Staff, Publications Staff and Videography Staff. Job Competencies Accountability Communication Organization Ownership Cultural Sensitivity Creativity Client/Customer Focused Responsibilities Attend all training sessions to become familiar with the service and learn and adhere to the general operations of the service Strive to foster a warm, comfortable and respectful atmosphere for all Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and attentively including videography, photography, graphic design, and publications Respect and adhere to all company policies, procedures and ethical standards Attend and fully participate in all in person and virtual meetings Maintain timely communication with your respective Manager on Duty and Supervisor Learn and exercise a working knowledge of all AMS Media Centre equipment and software including camera, sound, lighting, and computer equipment.
