Overview The Global Marketing Engines & Experiences (GME&E) team is seeking a Creative Lead – Social (Copy) to drive connected storytelling and copy across Microsoft’s commercial marketing efforts. This role brings the Microsoft brand to life through campaigns, activations, and creative assets that drive both emotional connection and business impact. As a senior member of our integrated creative team, you will concept across social, digital, and emerging platforms — partnering closely with marketing, brand, product, and social leads to deliver audience-first assets that support the full customer journey. Responsibilities Drive creative direction of integrated campaigns across social, digital, and emerging platforms. Translate insights, trends, and cultural moments into breakthrough editorial concepts. Maintain and evolve Microsoft’s brand voice through updated playbooks, guidelines, and tone-of-voice documentation. Partner with design and creative stakeholders to bring integrated concepts to life. Create engaging content to support always-on social presence, user-generated content (UGC), and real time. Ensure consistency and creative excellence for all deliverables. Present and pitch ideas to internal stakeholders and leadership with clarity and passion. Stay updated on trends, internet culture, and audience behaviors to inform and inspire work. Partner with other creative leads (art), strategists, and marketing teams to meet campaign objectives and audience needs. Participate in cross-functional writer’s rooms to drive creative excellence. Manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, deadlines, and creative quality. Experiment with generative AI and automation tools to enhance ideation, iteration, and content workflows. Collaborate across creative and production partners (internal and external) to ensure world-class execution. Embody our Culture and Values Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications 3+ years experience in social-first content creation, including concepting, script creation or real-time responses AND a certification, degree, or training in English, Writing, Human-centered Design, Literature, or related field OR equivalent experience. 1+ year(s) project leadership experience. Additional or preferred qualifications 5+ years demonstrated growth in writing or content design AND a certification, degree, or training in English, Writing, Human-centered Design, Literature, or related field OR equivalent experience. 3+ years project leadership experience. 2+ years experience in a related content domain/area. The ability to provide a portfolio of relevant work for review5+ years of experience in social-first content creation, including concepting, script creation, and real-time responses. 5+ years of experience in copy or creative direction roles in B2B (business-to-business), technology, advertising, or related environments. 5+ years of experience and portfolio showcasing campaign work, platform-specific design, and brand systems, or related experience. #EandEJobs Writing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
