About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Hesperia, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Hesperia, CA Schedule: 8 hours per month, 2 sessions a week for 1 hour Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Valid teaching credential required Experience working with students with autism and speech delays Background in special education and supporting students with IEPs Strong knowledge of early childhood education and kindergarten readiness skills Expertise in foundational literacy instruction, including phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, and vocabulary development Experience teaching early math concepts such as number recognition, counting, and basic operations Skilled in using visual supports, incentives, and multisensory strategies Familiarity with ABA-informed practices and collaboration with related services (OT, speech therapy) Patient, engaging, and creative, with the ability to maintain motivation and structure Comfortable conducting an academic assessment to guide instruction Key Responsibilities: Conduct an initial assessment to determine current academic levels and learning needs Provide individualized instruction in foundational literacy, including phonemic awareness, phonics, sight words, vocabulary, and early reading comprehension Support development of early math skills such as number sense, counting, and basic operations Incorporate kindergarten readiness skills, including early writing and foundational academic behaviors Use visual supports, stickers, rewards, and structured routines to maintain engagement Implement multisensory, play-based, and highly structured instructional strategies Align instruction with the student’s IEP goals and current therapy supports (ABA, OT, speech) Break tasks into small, manageable steps with repetition and guided practice Incorporate the student’s interests (e.g., Roblox, Snoopy, and favorite characters) to increase motivation Provide consistent encouragement and positive reinforcement Maintain a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment Track progress and adjust instruction based on student growth and needs Why Tutor Me Education?
