POSITION SUMMARY

The Credentialing Lead trains and coordinates Credentialing Staff to support emergency management operations by coordinating, verifying, and maintaining credentials, licenses, and certifications of emergency responders, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and contractors. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations during preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, or related field (preferred).
• Experience training and managing teams in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in credentialing, compliance, or records management.
• Experience in emergency and disaster response environments.
• Strong organizational and data management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced emergency response environments.
• Proficiency in database and credentialing software systems.

• Credentialing & Verification
• Collect, review, and verify required documentation including licenses, certifications, background checks, and training records.
• Train Credentialing Staff on credential verification processes.
• Manage teams of Credentialing Staff across emergency operation centers.
• Maintain up-to-date credentialing files for staff, volunteers, and contracted personnel.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards (FEMA, Joint Commission, CMS, state/local agencies).
• Reliable Emergency Deployment
• This position has a premium on reliability, Credentialing Leads must be punctual and dependable and able to coordinate teams.
• Emergency activations may occur on short notice and Credentialing Leads should expect to be rapidly available to support operations.
• Emergency Response Support
• Assist in rapid credentialing and deployment of personnel during emergency or disaster response.
• Support incident command or emergency operations center (EOC) with credentialing records and access control.
• Issue and manage identification badges and access permissions for responders and staff.
• Database & Records Management
• Enter and update data in credentialing and personnel management systems.
• Track credential expirations, send reminders, and coordinate renewal processes.
• Generate reports to support staffing, audits, and after-action reviews.
• Compliance & Policy
• Stay current with credentialing standards, federal guidelines, and accreditation requirements.
• Participate in drills and exercises to test credentialing processes.
• Recommend improvements to credentialing workflows, systems, and procedures.
