Description Job Summary: The Credit Analyst is responsible for proactively managing customer credit risk across the Company’s portfolio. This role focuses on evaluating creditworthiness, establishing appropriate credit limits and terms, and identifying risk trends early to minimize delinquency and bad debt exposure. This position partners closely with Sales, Operations, and Accounts Receivable to support profitable growth while maintaining disciplined credit standards. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Credit Risk Management: Evaluate and approve new customer credit applications, including review of credit reports, trade references, and financial information. Establish and maintain customer credit limits and payment terms based on risk profile and purchasing behavior. Continuously monitor customer credit exposure, payment trends, and financial condition. Proactively identify at-risk accounts and recommend actions (credit holds, term changes, escalations). Portfolio Oversight & Analytics: Monitor AR aging trends and drive improvement in key metrics, including % over 30 and 90 days. Analyze customer payment behavior and identify patterns or deterioration in credit quality. Develop and maintain reporting dashboards to provide visibility into credit risk and portfolio health. Segment customers by risk level and prioritize focus accordingly. Order Review & Credit Decisions: Review and approve sales orders on credit hold in a timely manner, balancing risk and customer service. Partner with Sales and Branch teams to support growth while enforcing credit policies. Provide clear and consistent credit decisions with supporting rationale. Dispute & Issue Resolution: Collaborate with AR, Sales, and Operations to resolve invoice disputes impacting payment. Ensure root causes of disputes are identified and addressed to prevent recurrence. Policy & Process Improvement: Assist in developing and refining the Company’s credit policy and procedures. Recommend process improvements to reduce manual work and improve efficiency. Support implementation of tools and automation (e.g., credit platforms, ERP enhancements). Collaboration: Work closely with Accounts Receivable on collection strategy for higher-risk accounts. Partner with Sales to obtain necessary customer information (contacts, PO processes, etc.). Communicate credit-related insights and risks to leadership. Requirements Job Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience in credit analysis, AR, or commercial finance Strong understanding of credit evaluation, financial statements, and risk assessment Experience with high-volume B2B environments preferred Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; experience with ERP systems (e.g., TrulinX) a plus Strong communication skills with ability to influence cross-functional teams Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to balance risk management with customer relationships Ability to pass drug test
