The platform

The business is a specialist private debt manager operating within a broader financial institution, with in excess of €3bn of assets under management and a fourteen-year investment track record spanning multiple credit cycles. Since inception the platform has originated approximately €9bn across more than 300 portfolio companies. Its most recent institutional private debt vehicle reached final close earlier this year materially ahead of target, providing a substantial capital base for continued expansion. The investment mandate covers senior secured and flexible capital solutions in the lower mid-market, across sponsor-backed and sponsorless transactions in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Northern Europe.

Principal responsibilities

  • Assume full ownership of a portfolio of leveraged credits, including performance monitoring, covenant compliance, financial forecasting and the preparation of credit papers for investment committee
  • Lead follow-on transactions, including add-on acquisitions, incremental facilities, recapitalisations, amendments and refinancings
  • Identify and execute cross-sell and revenue-enhancement opportunities across the wider product platform
  • Act as the primary point of contact for sponsors, management teams and advisers, including in respect of underperforming or restructuring situations
  • Support the origination team on structure and documentation to ensure portfolio manageability post-completion
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members as the function scales

Candidate profile

  • Strong technical credit capability, including financial modelling, structuring and loan documentation on senior secured and unitranche transactions
  • Proven experience managing credits post-completion, including situations requiring active intervention
  • Commercial orientation, with a track record of identifying and delivering incremental revenue from existing relationships
  • Suitability for a lean, mid-market environment with direct exposure to decision-makers
  • A second European language is advantageous but not a requirement

The opportunity

This is a newly created position within a recently established team, offering direct reporting exposure to the function head, ownership of a substantial portfolio from the outset, and a clearly defined progression path as assets under management increase. Remuneration is comp
