Embarking within MCB’s Risk Strategic Business Unit (SBU) is an exciting opportunity and establishes a solid foundation for a career in banking. As part of the Risk SBU, the Debt Restructuring and Recovery Management Business Unit (BU) plays a key role in minimising the level of Non-Performing Assets of the Bank through restructuring of credit facilities and recovery of overdue amounts owed by clients. By joining the Debt Restructuring and Recovery Management BU as Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the Relationship Managers in the assessment of credit portfolios which require restricting and monitoring and prepare requests for informed credit sanctioning. We are on the lookout for: Job Vacancy: Credit Analyst In this role you will: • Meet with customers for signature of documents to facilitate the process and maintain good service standards; • Attend to customers’ queries and complaints to maintain customer service standards; • Conduct first level assessment on credit recovery/mitigation for vetting by the Relationship Manager within an agreed timeframe for smooth running of the recovery process; • Assist in the preparation of detailed action plans/reengineering propositions/recovery scenarios as and when required to maximise recovery rate; • Prepare letter of conditions and reminder letters for clients; • Liaise with notaries for agreed sale of property after assessing the exposure and securities for reporting to Relationship Manager; • Follow up on settled account/s to request for release and erasure of securities including closure of account/s where appropriate; • Perform security analysis for provisioning purpose and ensure that valuations are up to date; • Following up on covenants, agreed terms and conditions for performing files and restructured facilities as well as follow up on repayment plans on clients' files to ensure maximum recovery. To succeed, you will be required to demonstrate the following competencies: • Analyse and integrate numerical, verbal and other information while perceiving relationships and patterns, causes and effects; • Demonstrate technical or professional knowledge and skills related to the job and is able to apply these in day-to-day work requirements; • Develop supportive relationships with colleagues and maintain a sense of team spirit; • Produce written communication that is logically structured; • Respond rapidly to complex information with useful insights; • Remain objective and maintain a focus on work when under pressure. We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of: Either • A completed Degree in Economics/Management/Finance or Financial services or ACCA; • 3 years of experience in credit management and/or recovery within the banking sector. Or • 6 years of experience in credit management and/or recovery within the banking sector. A combination of both qualification & experience will be considered.
