Description:

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES:

Responsible for analyzing financial and credit information for potential and existing relationships to determine creditworthiness and risk involved in extending credit. The credit analyst’s role is to support the financial institution in making informed credit decisions, to ensure the stability and growth of the portfolio while minimizing potential losses.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to understand and learn the banks internal systems
  • Excellent customer service skill

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial statements, credit reports and other relevant information to assess the creditworthiness of commercial clients.
  • Spread financial statements and prepare financial models to assist lending team in preliminary analysis.
  • Prepare detailed loan presentations and present findings to lending team, Officer and Director level committees.
  • Monitor existing clients through annual and periodic reviews for potential risks and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with commercial lenders to structure credit facilities that meet the customers’ needs while maintaining policy compliance and minimizing bank risk.
  • Accompany commercial lenders on client/prospect calls to gain understanding of the business to prepare comprehensive analysis for proposed transactions and or relationship reviews.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regional and national economic conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact credit risk.
  • Maintain accurate records of credit analysis, supporting documents, approval and denials within physical and digital files.
  • Serve as a liaison to regulators, borrowers, and internal/external auditors.
  • Complete additional tasks or projects as assigned.
