Credit and Collection Manager
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures.
- Assess the creditworthiness of potential customers.
- Monitor and manage outstanding accounts receivable.
- Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to resolve billing disputes.
- Prepare regular reports on credit and collection activities.
- Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine risk levels.
- Set credit limits and terms for new and existing customers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Negotiate payment plans with delinquent customers.
- Handle escalated collection issues and disputes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.
- Collaborate with external agencies for debt recovery.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Certification in credit management is preferred but not required (e.g., CICM, NACM).
- Experience with credit and collections software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven track record in credit risk assessment.
- Advanced knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit and collections.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and credit reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with Workday are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
