QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commodities trading, with a focus on precious metals, preferred. Proven track record in credit risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Financial Expertise: Intimate understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analysis, with the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills and detail oriented in order to ensure accuracy in financial assessments and compliance processes.
  • Skills:


    • Strong knowledge of margin requirements and trading limit frameworks in commodities markets.

    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements both in the U.S. and in Europe.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external counterparties.
    • Proficiency in financial software and credit/risk management tools.
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced certifications (e.g., MBA, CFA, CPA, or similar) are a plus.
    • Work Schedule: Must be available for an early start time (e.g., 6:3 0 AM) to align with global commodities market hours.
    • Location: Must be able to work on-site in Pasadena, Texas.

    Responsibilities

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Credit Risk Management: Evaluate and monitor the creditworthiness of counterparties, establishing appropriate trading limits and margin requirements to mitigate financial risk.
    • Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including commodities trading laws, anti-money laundering (AML) policies, and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
    • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements of counterparties with a meticulous eye for detail to assess risk and inform credit decisions.
    • Contracts: Strong understanding of writing, reviewing and executing trading contracts. Basic knowledge of legal and contractual terminology is necessary.
    • Margin and Limit Setting: Develop and implement policies for margin requirements and trading limits, ensuring alignment with market conditions and company risk tolerance.
    • Monitoring and Reporting: Track market exposures, counterparty performance, and compliance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.
    • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance credit and compliance processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all operations.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with trading, finance, and legal teams to ensure seamless operations and alignment with business objectives.
    • Regulatory Updates: Stay informed of changes in commodities regulations and market practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.
