Credit Assistant Reports To: Store Manager/Credit Manager Summary: The Credit Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the Credit Manager by performing clerical duties and assisting with the collection of delinquent accounts. Essential Duties: * Monitor the timely mailing of first and second past-due notices. * Oversee the accurate posting of late charges. * Open mail payments, reconcile payments, and provide to the cashier for processing. * Assist the Credit Manager with address corrections for charge customers. * Retrieve contracts and assist with preparing warrants as directed by the Credit Manager. * Aid in running credit reports and present findings to the Credit Manager for review. * Contact delinquent accounts as assigned by the Credit Manager, including after-hours calls if necessary. * Assist during high-impact sales by managing credit terms. * Process customer payments as needed. * Help co-workers with any tasks as required. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: * Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with customers. * Proficient in reading and comprehending simple instructions and reports. * Familiarity with computers, typing, and basic office equipment. * High school diploma or GED. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear. Additionally, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.  Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
