JOB DESCRIPTION:

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Controller to join our busy team, working within our well-established and growing Canterbury based practice.

THE CANDIDATE:

The successful candidate should:

  • Have excellent verbal and written English, including a high level of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Be a self-motivated, logical thinker with a professional attitude.
  • Have a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to remain accurate under pressure.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines is a must, as well as attention to detail plus the ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of people at all levels.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Have a minimum of 12 months in a previous role (desired).
  • Previous experience of using accounting software, particularly Xero is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

Working within our treasury department you will assist the Partners with a range of functions, including:

  • Preparation of monthly sales ledger statements.
  • Maintain contact with overdue debtors and problematic cases to ensure payment is made, and resolving any queries in a timely manner and liaising with partners.
  • General accounts administration, including maintaining files.
  • Collecting funds by cards and banking cheques received when necessary.
  • Other tasks as assigned, and ad hoc work as requested.

This is a full-time office-based position, and the standard hours are 9.00am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday.
