Description

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the broader side of credit control. You’ll take ownership of customer accounts, keep on top of outstanding debt, resolve queries, monitor credit exposure and support month-end activity.

The Opportunity:

As a Credit Controller you’ll play a key role in:

  • Managing your own customer accounts and building strong working relationships to support timely payment.
  • Keeping the aged debt position under control, following up outstanding balances and resolving issues that may be delaying payment.
  • Reviewing credit limits and customer terms, carrying out credit checks and helping ensure new accounts are set up correctly.
  • Supporting month-end activity, including reporting, reconciliations, aged debt reviews and wider finance tasks.
  • Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Customer Service and Commercial teams to resolve customer queries and support good decision-making.

You’ll also have exposure to international accounts and multiple currencies, including Euros and US Dollars.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who can bring:

  • Strong, hands-on credit control experience and a good understanding of how to manage customer accounts from set-up through to payment.
  • Confidence speaking with customers and handling conversations around overdue balances in a professional manner.
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to investigate queries and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage your own priorities.
  • A practical, self-motivated approach and the confidence to work independently when needed.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues across different parts of the business.
  • Confidence using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • This role is likely to suit someone who is personable, confident and comfortable taking ownership. Manufacturing experience would be an added bonus but is not essential.
