Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our existing team based at the head office in Hemel Hempstead.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE ARE REQUIRED?

  • Technical knowledge of current credit control practices.
  • Experience of Credit Control systems.
  • Preferable experience of working in a software based business and/or public sector dealings.
  • Previous use of SAP desirable.
  • Previous experience of Working to cash targets.
  • Experience of using Excel at an intermediate level.
  • Flexibility to work within a high growth, rapidly changing environment.
  • Ownership of problems and issues.
  • Excellent time management, including work prioritisation with minimal supervision.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the collection of debt owed to NEC, liaising with our Clients directly. Working with the business to resolve any queries in a timely manner, and improve on the accuracy of invoicing.
  • Accountable for a diverse portfolio of clients, as defined by the Credit Manager.
  • Developing working relationships with key contacts within the client organisation and ensuring prompt payment of debt.
  • Responsible for actively managing the timely resolution of any customer queries raised by the client; however, if it results in a dispute this is managed by a separate team.
  • Management of account including housekeeping.
  • Monitoring PO renewal notices for support & maintenance contracts.
  • Achievement of monthly cash collection targets as set by the Credit Manager.
  • Negotiation and communication.
  • Flagging disputed items, working with Operations and Finance teams to ensure prompt resolutions.
  • Flagging of key areas of risk and focus to the Credit Manager, with recommendations and solutions
  • Assisting the Credit Manager and wider Finance team as required
  • Challenge existing processes and working methods, to deliver a programme of continuous improvement within both Credit Control and the wider organisation
