OVERVIEW

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Credit Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining positive relationships with clients. This role is crucial in supporting the financial health of our organisation by minimising bad debts and optimising cash flow.

EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will possess:

• Proven experience in a credit control or finance-related role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
• Proficiency in accounting software for efficient data management and reporting.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks performed.
• A professional approach to communication, particularly over the phone, demonstrating strong phone etiquette.
• Previous NHS experience is highly desirable.

• To ensure that Accounts Receivable policies and procedures are applied for the effective and timely recovery of Trust income in relation to assigned accounts.
• To ensure assigned account activity achieves monthly targets of debt cash collection and aged debt levels. To explain any non-achievement of targets in a monthly exception report to the Accounts Receivable Manager, which identities future options for progress.
• To ensure that policies and procedures are applied to assigned accounts to minimise the loss of income from bad or doubtful debts.
• To fully support the Accounts Receivable Manager in achieving the required debt collection outcomes of the Accounts Receivable Function of the Trust. To deputise for the Accounts Receivable Manager and/or Income Officer in periods of absence, where requested by the Chief Income Officer.
• To provide Accounts Receivable support and advice to Finance colleagues and Clinical and Corporate Directorates as necessary.
