As Credit Manager, you’ll take ownership of a complex, high-value debtor portfolio, balancing commercial outcomes with disciplined credit control. Your ability to assess risk, act early, and resolve issues will directly influence financial performance.  You’ll work across Finance, Sales, and Customer teams to reduce aged debt, improve payment behaviour, and ensure credit decisions are well-informed and consistently applied. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage sensitive accounts, lead recovery strategies, and provide clear insight into receivables performance and emerging risk.  Ko tō mahi – What you will do  Reporting to the Finance Operations Lead, you will lead credit control activity across a high-value portfolio, overseeing receivables performance, managing risk exposure, and ensuring credit policies are applied consistently. You’ll partner closely with internal teams and customers to resolve issues, improve processes, and strengthen overall credit management practices.  Key responsibilities include:  * Managing a complex debtor portfolio, maintaining controlled balances and reducing overdue debt * Leading structured collection strategies to improve payment timeliness and reduce ageing * Conducting credit assessments and setting appropriate limits and terms for new and existing customers * Identifying and managing high-risk accounts, including escalation and recovery strategies * Partnering with Sales, Billing, and Customer teams to resolve disputes and remove payment barriers * Negotiating payment arrangements that support recovery while maintaining customer relationships * Overseeing external debt collection agencies and recovery activity * Monitoring receivables performance, including DSO, ageing, and emerging risk trends * Providing clear reporting and insights to support cash flow forecasting and decision making * Supporting process improvements to strengthen controls and improve efficiency * Providing guidance and support to other team members on complex credit matters Nā tōu rourou - What you will bring  Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:  * Proven experience in credit management, ideally across complex or high-value portfolios  * Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, collections strategy, and receivables performance management * Demonstrated ability to reduce aged debt and improve cash flow outcomes * Confidence managing difficult conversations and negotiating payment solutions * Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting financial data and trends * Experience working with financial systems (SAP or similar) and advanced Excel capability * Ability to apply policy with sound commercial judgement * Clear, professional communication skills across internal and external stakeholders * High attention to detail and a disciplined, process-driven approach Nōu te rourou – Why join us?  This role offers real ownership and visibility.
