ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Credit Manager to join our team and oversee the debtor book and credit control functions for our UK and Belgium operations. This role will involve evaluating new credit requests, negotiating payment terms, and ensuring that the company’s credit procedures are followed. If you have a strong background in credit risk management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, we would love to hear from you!
Please note: while the title of this role includes ‘Manager’ to reflect its seniority and level of responsibility, it does not involve direct line management. You will be a key point of support and expertise for the wider credit control team, providing guidance and insight rather than managing individuals directly.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Evaluating the creditworthiness of potential customers using information from a variety of sources.
  • Negotiating payment and commercial terms.
  • Monitoring and actioning any changes to credit insurance and/or credit worthiness of customers.
  • Review and approval of new customer due diligence checks.
  • Implementing and monitoring the credit risk framework (early warning indicators etc.).
  • Monitoring and communicating the level of credit risk taken to senior management
  • Undertaking key tasks in credit risk management on a day-to-day basis
  • Monitoring and approval of orders outside of the agreed credit limits and terms.
  • Review and approval of credit note requests.
  • Monitor and assist the Customer Operations team, who undertake the credit control function, in recovery of outstanding invoices.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory expectations
  • Following up incidents and audit actions
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required to support the need of the team and wider company.
