Job Requirements About the Role The Credit Manager – Rural Credit – Business Banking Underwriting is responsible for assessing, evaluating, reviewing, and approving loan proposals as the first officer for business banking relationships referred to retail credit. This role ensures timely service delivery, effective portfolio management, and alignment with the bank’s risk appetite. The role also involves regular monitoring, early warning identification, deferral tracking, and working on appropriate account strategies in conjunction with the business team. Key Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities Credit appraisal of loan applications within defined guidelines and decision-making or recommending for approval to higher authorities. Provide clear opinions and highlight critical risks with suitable mitigants regarding proposed transactions, covering business model, industry risk, structure, bank conduct, and financial risk. Ensure awareness of the proposed product and its suitability to client requirements. Conduct personal discussions with customers to establish creditworthiness. Timely renewal of credit facilities and management of deferrals. Early warning signal (EWS) management and customer visits for key and high-value relationships. Maintain defined credit and end-to-end turnaround times (TATs) to ensure timely service to internal and external customers. Secondary Responsibilities Coordinate with counterparts in Business, Operations, Legal, Technical, and other relevant departments. Ensure timely submission of all credit-related MIS reports. Maintain area knowledge to support credit decisions. What We Are Looking For Education Graduation: Any discipline. Post-graduation: MBA or Professional Qualification/Certification: Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred. Experience Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in credit underwriting and portfolio management. Skills and Attributes Strong analytical and credit appraisal skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate across departments. Attention to detail and adherence to regulatory guidelines. Customer-centric approach and problem-solving mindset.
