POSITION SUMMARY

The Credit Review Analyst II is responsible for assessing, identifying, and reporting on credit risks and the overall quality of the Bank’s loan portfolio through loan file and portfolio examinations, stress testing, and timely submission of reports to the Director of Loan Review.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of:

  • Basic accounting skills
  • Basic understanding of financial statements
  • Credit fundamentals including loan structures and credit analytic ratios (i.e. balance sheet, cash flow, and other performance ratios/metrics)
  • General loan & collateral documentation
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills - focused on Word and Excel

Education and Training:

  • Minimum 4-year college degree in finance, accounting, or economics.
  • 4-8 years of commercial loan review and/or credit analysis experience.
Responsibilities
  • Risk Grade – Assess the adequacy of the risk grade classification through the review of borrower and guarantor financial performance, collateral strength, and verification/completion of various risk grading scorecards.
  • Portfolio Management –Monitor ongoing portfolio management activities, such as timely portfolio reviews, covenant compliance, and borrowing base compliance and management.
  • Underwriting – Assess the adequacy of the Credit department’s analyses through the verification and/or calculation of financial and collateral ratios, such as cash flow, leverage, liquidity, and loan-to-value ratios. Evaluate the underwriting standards and activities of lending and credit personnel including compliance with lending policies and the quality of loan approval, monitoring, and risk assessment.
  • Financial – Review the credit file for completeness and timeliness of required borrower and/or guarantor(s) financial statement reporting such as audits/reviews/tax returns, borrowing base certificates, and covenant compliance certificates.
  • Policy – Understand, interpret, and apply complex lending policies and regulatory guidance to a diverse set of customers and credit structures.
  • System - Review loan computer records for proper classification and coding for management financial reporting purposes.
  • Documentation – Confirm the accuracy of loan, entity, collateral, and government guarantee/program-specific documents as compared with approved loan structure/requirements.
