Maersk Energy Markets is an integral part of the group and an active player in the global marine fuels trading industry. Being Maersk’s fuel sourcing arm, we handle over 12 million tones annually managing supply, storage, blending and delivery of fuel to our fleet through several physical locations. We also specialize in providing comprehensive bunkering, trading and risk solutions to the shipping and energy sectors.
ABOUT THE JOB:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Credit Risk Analyst to join our team. You will be responsible for assessing and mitigating credit risk exposures within our third-party trading portfolio, advise on the trades and support Maersk green transition.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Data Analysis, or a related numerical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in credit risk analysis within commodity trading (Oil & Gas, Marine fuels) or a financial institution with focus on energy and shipping.
- Solid understanding of fundamental financial analysis, credit scoring models, and risk mitigation techniques.
- Familiarity with marine fuels and shipping industries, including understanding of the products (VLSFO, HSFO, biofuels), common payment terms, contractual structures, and operational challenges.
- Experience with alternative fuel types (e-methanol, bio-methanol, LNG, bio-LNG) is a plus.
- Knowledge of trade finance products including but not limited to SBLC and PCG.
- Knowledge of CTRM and ERP platforms.
- Knowledge of applied numerical methods within credit risk and respective statistical tools (Python, R, MATLAB, AI applications) is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced, international team.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
