Description JOB SUMMARY: Credit Team Manager must have an effective and intense knowledge of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) credit, including Revolving Lines of Credit, and Term Loans, Asset Based Lending (ABL), Commercial Real Estate (CRE), including non-owner and owner occupied, as well as consumer lending and personal Real Estate expertise. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide guidance and structure to front line Relationship Management Team. Minimize Credit Approvals that could potentially be viewed as exception or underwritten under non-supported overtly liberal terms. Minimize portfolio losses. Support Regional Manager with existing, renewing, and new credit requests. Communicate issues within the portfolio, or potential issues on incoming requests. Provide timely response to client inquiries and aid credit related challenges, with all inquiries answered within 24 hours or less. Be available and accessible to team. Be able to recommend appropriate credit actions including approvals within assigned credit authority. Elevate specialized requests and unresponsive credits to Senior Credit Management. Follow all lending and banking regulations. Monitor the Region’s Credit Portfolio for ongoing repayment viability by following regular financial updates for each credit in the portfolio. Have thorough knowledge of credit analysis and its application to credit. Lead a team of seasoned and professional Commercial Credit Underwriters/Portfolio Managers. Monitor portfolio for maturing credits and/or past due credits. Assign credit portfolio to appropriate Portfolio Manager based on capacity and workload, experience with client/industry, and/or familiarity with client/industry. Perform regular reviews of credits within the portfolio as well as collateral. Recommend appropriate risk grading based upon performance and economic environment affecting the client/industry. Assist Relationship Management Team by being available to meet clients and prospects in the field. Aid Senior Credit Management with new requests or special assignments. Be an active member of the bank’s Loan Strategy Meetings Committee. Prepare Loan Strategy and Watch List Reports (LSR/WLR’s) when appropriate. Assist in loan documentation and structure by working closely with the Note Department. Inspect Loan Documentation for errors or issues. Responsible for maintaining and monitoring relationships, credit analysis, and underwriting, as team workload requires. Works consultatively with clients to present solutions to their short and long-term strategic objectives. Responsible for maintaining ticklers to ensure documentation and covenants are kept up to date. Participates in weekly loan funding meetings. Requirements REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience with financial analysis, including spreading, tickler management, covenant testing, and modeling/projections. Effective and professional communication skills are a must. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Professional-level skills with spreading software, MS Excel and MS Office. Experience with loan documentation, including outside counsel-prepared loan documentation. Independent thinker and self-starter. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and follow-through. Education/Licenses/Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required. Minimum 10 years of banking experience required. Minimum three years of commercial banking experience, preferably client-facing.
