REQUIREMENTS:

  • Understanding of risk assessment required to complete secured residential underwriting.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and compliance – APRA, ASIC, AML, KYC guidelines
  • Mortgage/Lending underwriting experience; understanding property valuation, credit reporting and lending criteria
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, credit reports and self-employed income types.
  • Minimum 2-5 years underwriting experience within Australian market with specific self-employed/construction underwriting experience required.
    Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyse, verify and decision residential loan proposals.
  • Exercise a high degree of commercial acumen, whilst ensuring all submissions satisfy the Bank’s policies & legislative guidelines.
  • Build and maintain value based, constructive working relationships with key internal and external customers.
  • Provide a reference point for WPB distribution channel staff to direct enquires relating to lending and assist with their training, coaching and development.
  • Assist in providing ongoing training, guidance and support to WPB Distribution Channel staff, including visits to Branches.
  • Ensure that all Audit and Compliance related issues are complied with and that all relevant reports are actioned in a timely manner.
  • Ensure timely and efficient processing of all credit related applications.
  • Preparation of files and registers for various visits by auditors, regulators etc.
  • Management and/or participation in a variety of related projects emerging from time to time.
  • Satisfactory monthly Quality Assurance results.
