Description The Credit Underwriter plays a foundational role in the loan origination process by performing initial evaluations of credit applications within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. This individual supports the underwriting pipeline by ensuring borrower information is complete and accurate, reviewing standard-risk applications, and identifying files that require further manual assessment. The Underwriter uses decisioning tools and established credit policy to assess risk factors while learning the broader framework of credit analysis. This position offers a strong entry point into a career in financial underwriting, with opportunities for growth into more complex decision-making roles. RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct credit and risk analysis for standard applications within set guidelines.? Accurately document underwriting decisions and ensure loan file completeness.? Communicate decisions clearly to internal partners.? Participate in training and onboarding programs to build credit knowledge.? Consistently meet or exceed performance and quality metrics. Communicate with internal teams to resolve application issues or missing documentation. Escalate complex or unclear cases. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. All other tasks and duties as assigned related to the position QUALIFICATIONS Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field preferred 1-2 years of experience preferred. Entry-level experience required with some exposure to financial or credit review processes. Familiar with credit bureaus and financial documentation. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving credit policies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills DETAILS Hybrid environment available. Schedule will be Sundays 10AM-7PM, Monday - Thursday 7AM-330PM Pay based on experience, starting at $25/hour
