JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a crew leader to be part of our team to cover any crew leaders time off. This position will get a variety of sites and equipment.

MUST HAVE FULL G LICENSE AND CLEAN DRIVER ABSTRACT, MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE PROOF OF 3 YEARS HEAVY TRUCK EXPERIENCE FOR INSURANCE

The Grounds Maintenance Crew Leader plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of outdoor spaces. This position involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, ensuring that gardens, lawns, and other green areas are well-kept and thriving. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise projects effectively while working collaboratively with a team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • College Diploma, Apprenticeship, CHT or CLT an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in landscape maintenance.
  • WHMIS, CPR, First AID, and safety and equipment operation certifications an asset.
  • Ability to train and coach the team.
  • Knowledge of lawn maintenance best practices.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead crew members on the job site.
  • Assist with employee on the job training by coaching staff on how to safely and properly use equipment, machines, and tools.
  • Ensure job sites, vehicles, tools, and equipment are safe by performing daily inspections.
  • Timesheet recording
  • Driving Truck & Trailer, performing & recording truck & equipment inspections daily.
  • Recording fuel usage.
  • Reporting repairs & damages on equipment & sites.
  • Manage client relationships when necessary.
  • Communicate expectations with staff.
  • Make recommendations to staff using your expertise.
  • Assist with the day-to-day functions and tasks.
  • Keep communication open with upper management.
  • Perform site inspections.
  • Operate weed eaters, power mowers, backpack sprayers, power edgers, hoes, shovels, hand tools, and related landscape equipment as required.
  • Regular snow removal including shoveling, salting, operating snow blowers and other snow removal equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
