As a Crew Leader/Labourer II, you will play a pivotal role in delivering approved work plans for Horticulture operations from April to October, and as a Labourer II for Snow and Ice Control (SNIC)/Active Pathways Removal (APR) from November to March. You will provide direct supervision and leadership to field crews, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently, and fostering a collaborative team environment. This position requires a commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining effective working relationships with the public, City departments, and external organizations. You’ll also contribute valuable input to budget processes and uphold the City’s cultural commitments of being Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated, and Excellent.
SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:
Possession of excellent communication skills (written and verbal), as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exemplary customer service skills.
Qualifications:
Provide field-level instruction and hands-on leadership to maintenance crews, demonstrating operational best practices.
